Fr. Tom Welbers

A San Fernando Valley native, Fr. Tom Welbers was ordained in 1968 and has served in a variety of parishes, as well as college campus ministry. Over the last twenty years, he served as pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Claremont and Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills, as well a planning and leading annual pilgrimages to Early Christian World sites in Turkey. Recently retired from parish ministry, he continues to pursue an interest in theology, liturgy, Scripture, spirituality, history (especially Middle East), and cultural and religious relations with Islam. Since the 1980s, he has been fascinated by the potential of digital media in ministry, and is now avidly developing his own personal outreach on social media.

Tour of the Catholic Web: Discovery and Sharing:  Part I

Skill:  All levels

Audience:  Everyone!

This is a two-part workshop in order that we may consider more deeply the resources presented.  I propose to explore how we can discover online treasures or our own enrichment and understanding and tools to broaden and deepen our outreach, whether evangelization, teaching, or simply extending our personal ministry.
