Leticia Citizen

Leticia Citizen is completing her 17th year as an educator. Previously teaching in Pasadena Unified, Leticia moved to Arcadia Unified to teach fifth grade. She uses many tools of instruction to effectively teach. Leticia thoroughly enjoys integrating all subjects when teaching to effectively address grade-level standards. Project-based learning and inquiry-based activities are interwoven into the school day. She spends much time expanding her teaching skills by attending professional developments on literacy, history, and technology for the classroom. Leticia has a high interest in technology-enhanced teaching. As a result, she has embraced this tool and currently implements many applications and programs available to teachers and their students.

Closely Reading with Thinglink

Skill Level:  Beginner

Audience:  Teachers Grades 3-12

Using Nearpod to present to the audience, attendees will first practice annotating images using close reading icons and the 3 BIG questions. Attendees will have time to watch my students interact with images and lead discussions with their classmates as they load images onto ThingLink and tag the image with applicable information. Finally, participants will have an opportunity to upload and tag their own images using the Close Reading icons. They will also leave with a lesson to use the next day.
