Sherry Hayes-Peirce

Since 2010 Sherry Hayes-Peirce has been presenting social media workshops through SkillPath Seminars, as a faculty member of Graceland University. Through the years, she traveled around the U.S. and Australia helping educational institutions, health and safety organization, Catholic parishes/diocese and other business categories to harness the power of social media to inform, inspire and engage their unique audiences.

While watching an episode of Catholic TV’s show Inter Nos she saw then Monsignor Paul Tighe say  “If we are not in the newsfeed of young people, Jesus is not present to them”. It inspired me to pray about how I could use my gifts with Social Media to help the church. In 2014, the Archdiocese of Seattle attended one of her workshops and hired her as a social media consultant to help them formulate strategy and social media planning. She also was a featured speaker at the 10th Annual Northwest Stewardship Conference presenting a presentation entitled “Using Social Media to Engage the Next Generation”.

Believing that God has called her to share her gifts of public speaking and social media knowledge she launched her Church Social Tips brand, website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, online training platform and exhibited at the ICSC conference last September and is consulting with them on using social media for this year’s conference.

Her home parish is American Martyrs Catholic Community in Manhattan Beach, CA where she serves as a lector and administrator of their Facebook page. Additionally, she lectors here at LMU.  She shares tips and writes blogs on Catholic topics via her website and social media pages. She was recently featured on Sirius Radio XM’s Catholic Channel as a guest on the Just Love show with Monsignor Kevin Sullivan to talk about creating a social media plan for the Lenten Season.
